Find your best Italian food producers

Every year farmers from Pianella, Moscufo and Loreto Aprutino take part in the PrimoGrano project. We plant the San Carlo variety of durum wheat over 100 hectares to produce six traditional forms of pasta containing 100% Abruzzo durum wheat. The Chitarrone pasta from the Primograno range looks similar to spaghetti but is thicker and square, rather than round. It takes its name from the typical tool (“chitarra”) used to make it. This tool gives the pasta its firm texture, enabling it to completely soak up the sauces it is served with.
