Porchetta from Abruzzo is a typical gastronomic specialty. In the Teramo area, the preparation of this second dish is an ancient art as well as a great tradition. It is produced using a boned adult pig, flavored and baked in the oven. The intense and inviting aroma enhances the senses and the crunchiness of the golden crust intoxicates the palate.
It is traditionally served in sandwiches stuffed with porchetta and crust but can be eaten sliced ​​as a second meat dish.

The Salumieri of Castel Castagna is a company specialized in the production of excellent sausages and hams,active for over 35 years.
It is one of the few farms in Italy with a complete chain,because the meat used are derived from a herd of pigs owned, situated on the slopes of the Gran Sasso D'Italia. In june 2013 was inaugurated the new plant of about 5000 square meters.
