The Milk and Fontina Cooperative Producers was founded in 1957 with the aim to collect, mature and market Aosta Valley's most important agricultural product: the FONTINA DOP/PDO cheese.
The founders members were at the very beginning 46 while today the number reaches the amount of 200 among private firms, cooperative dairies and mountain pastures. In 1958, during the first year or activity the number of cheeses delivered by the members where less than 40.000, while today the amount reaches 350.000 cheeses.

Mila – Latte Montagna Alto Adige is a cooperative with approximately 2.400 dairy farmers. With an average of 14 cows each, the cooperative farmers graze their cows on high mountain green pastures all above 11.000 ft. and the milk will be collected daily. Within 24 hours after collection the milk will be processed in our two production facilities. In our Headquarter in Bolzano we produce: yoghurt, drinking yoghurts, fresh milk, ESL milk, UHT milk, fresh cream and butter. In Brunico we produce: cheese, fresh cheese, mascarpone and skyr.

The Pecorino Toscano PDO Protection Consortium aims to protect the PDO label and to promote the product, both in Italy and abroad.
The Pecorino Toscano PDO, be it fresh or ripened, is a sweet product, not pungent, low-salt and, when ripened, naturally lactose-free.
In the area of origin, laid down in the product specification, sheep's milk is produced and processed into Pecorino Toscano.
The product is then ripened until it reaches maturity, at least 20 days for fresh cheese and 4 months for ripened cheese.
Cheese wheels are selected one by one and the mark of origin is applied to each of them
