Description
Founded in 1993, the Consortium for the Protection of Balsamic Vinegar of Modena has been committed since the beginning for the registration of the denomination as a Protected Geographical Indication, obtained in July 2009. In 2014 the Consortium received the official assignment for the protection of Balsamic Vinegar of Modena PGI from the Italian Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies.
The Protection Consortium is the guardian of the product specifications and a key discussion partner in all questions concerning the product at the regulatory and cultural level.
